Hello! Doctors in Florida bought 89 percent of all the
Oxycodone sold in the country last year. There's current thinking that the illegal sale of prescription drugs, and Oxycodone in particular, boomed in Florida because of the absence of a widely used prescription drug monitoring system and lax state regulations
In a nutshell:
The roughly 4,000 pharmacies permitted in Florida will be required to participate in the new database and monitoring program. So anytime a prescription is dispensed for controlled substances, the doctor and the patient's name will be entered into Florida's database
