According to the article:

"The survey, which queried 500 home-based adult patients and 500 paid and unpaid caregivers, showed that both patients and caregivers are overwhelmed and stressed. Both groups equally (31%) blame each other when there is a delay in receiving life-saving medical equipment. Findings further exhibit that many patients are left in the dark, unaware of any coordinated assistance services made available by their health insurers. An overwhelming majority (77%) of the patients also reported that they are the primary contact for their medical suppliers. The survey also disclosed that 59% of patients received unreliable or poor-quality medical supplies and equipment."

Updated May 28, 2025

Unfortunately, the original link broke.

---  the original post follows below  ---

The California Board of Pharmacy just posted a hyperlink on their home page about possible license delays.

The California Department of Consumer Affairs provides the details, Attention New Applicants And Renewing Licensees - Avoid Unnecessary Delays In Your License Issuance Or Renewal:

In summary:
"The Department of Consumer Affairs is scheduled to transition additional Boards and Bureaus to the new BreEZe online licensing and enforcement system in January 2016. The transition to the new system will require a temporary shutdown of all licensing processes for several business days, and could result in delays in processing initial license applications, license renewals, and changes such as name changes or changes of address."

If you're scheduled to renew, or are planning to submit a license application within the next 3-4 months, you'll want to read the details for more information, and how it might affect your situation. I suggest that you learn more right away, so that you can plan your next steps in a timely fashion.

Renew Your License Early - Avoid New Computer System Disruptions - CA Board of Pharmacy

Updated January 11, 2025

Go here, for Personal License Renewal:
https://www.pharmacy.ca.gov/licensees/personal/personal_lic_renew.shtml

- - -

California Board of Pharmacy:

"Does your license expire August 31, September 1, September 30 or October 1?

If so, please note:

The Department of Consumer Affairs is beginning its transition to a new computer system. Phase 1 implementation begins for certain departmental agencies in mid-September 2013. During this transition, there will be temporary disruptions in cashiering and other services affecting all Department of Consumer Affairs agencies, including the Board of Pharmacy. These disruptions will prevent the update of licensing records available online. (The Board of Pharmacy will transfer to the new system in phase 2.)

If your license renewal date falls between August 31 to October 1 (inclusive), these cashiering disruptions could affect you.

Please renew your license early! Do not wait and risk delayed renewal of your license!"
